Our First Visitors
On Sunday evening we had our very first visitors in Oklahoma. We know that we do not live in a desirable part of the country, at least in terms of vacations. and we have accepted that we probably won’t see much of our families over the next couple of years. However, Clay’s sister, Martha, and her family are currently PCSing from Yuma Proving Grounds, AZ to Fort Bragg, NC and ventured into our territory during their cross-country drive. They spent Sunday night and tonight in Lawton so the kids could spend some much needed time together. They spent both nights in a hotel, for our house is still in disarray. But we enjoyed seeing family and being able to say goodbye to Edward before he deploys. Clay had to leave early this morning to go TDY so I was left alone today to show them the best Lawton has to offer. I tried.
Here are just a few shots I managed to capture during the craziness. And with four young kids, there certainly was craziness.
Madison put a My Little Pony sticker on Weston. He wasn’t too sure about it.
Weston and Alex enjoyed sopapillas after nap time.
We went to Kids Zone at Greer Park, which is an awesome playground in the heart of Lawton.
Madison enjoyed climbing the tires.
While Luke enjoyed swinging on one.
Weston tried so hard to keep up with this older cousins.
And this was the best picture of me and the kids. It was 100 degrees.
I hope that explains the picture. Please don’t judge. Please.
We had pizza for dinner.
And then it was time to say goodbye.
It was wonderful to have visitors! Now if you excuse me, I am going to do what any sane woman at 9pm would do who has been up since 5am and has a TDY husband – paint a bedroom!
